What inspired Drs. Orhun Muratoglu, Andrew A. Freiberg, Kartik Mangudi Varadarajan, Harry Rubash and Henrik Malchau to develop the anatomically contoured BIOLOX CONTOURA® ceramic femoral head?

The answer: Anatomy

The BIOLOX CONTOURA® ceramic femoral head made of the pink BIOLOX®delta ceramic retains the outer diameter profile of a conventional implant and incorporates a contoured shoulder with a lesser radius. 

The design was inspired by anatomy with the aim of reducing the volume of material potentially exposed to soft tissue.
